Last December, we told you about the efforts of Wilson Drake Development LLC, a developer and landlord that owns a few properties in Point Breeze, to rehab 1148-50 S 15th St., two terrible-looking homes on a rough block. At the time, their proposal for two four-unit rental buildings had gotten support from the neighbors on the block, but was derailed at the ZBA by the efforts of a small group of other individuals who live in the area.

Recently, we noticed newish fencing up in front of these homes, indicating that progress may finally be on the way sometime soon.

We’ve realized that the property owners went back to the ZBA last month, amending their application to three apartments on each property, and maintaining the originally proposed rear parking space. We’re guessing they got what they were seeking, and that these long-blighted homes will soon be renovated. And it’s about time.
