When we last checked in on the 800 block of Opal Street in June, foundations were being dug for two new homes with a garage in the middle. We were in the area yesterday and the construction has definitely progressed.

As we told you back then, these homes were designed by David Traub Architects, and are modeled after a nearby carriage house on Cambridge Street. If you really like the look of the building on Cambridge Street, there’s apparently an apartment inside that’s currently available for rent.

But back to Opal Street. The two homes are not yet on the market, but should be soon and…

A couple of weeks back, we told you about two new homes, with a garage in the middle, coming to the hidden 800 block of Opal St., in Francisville. Here, check out the foundations being dug as of last week:

Next to these homes, in case you forgot, is newish and adorable Ogden Park, truly a lovely amenity for the future homeowners, as well as everybody in the neighborhood.

Now, as promised, we have some renderings for this project. Designed by David Traub Architects to resemble a historic carriage house nearby on Cambridge St., these new homes will really pop.

A reader tipped us off about some construction activity on a hidden street in Francisville, the 800 block of Opal Street. Running for just one block between Parrish and Poplar Streets, hardly anyone would know about this quasi-alley if not for the fact that it bisects the totally adorable Ogden Park.

For those unfamiliar with this relatively new green space, the formerly vacant, overgrown, and trashed lots were cleaned up by community members back in 2008, spearheaded by Francisville Neighborhood Development Corporation. It’s always great to see a neighborhood come together to produce a public space that everybody can enjoy.
