A reader gave us the heads up about 2050 and 2052 Ellsworth Street, two properties currently under construction in Point Breeze. One home is being rehabbed, while the other is new construction. Let’s see what these homes looked like a couple of years ago:

As if the unfortunate new facade wasn’t an indication, 2050 Ellsworth St. is apparently being redeveloped by an individual, not a developer. If we’re not mistaken, this particular property has been under construction for quite some time, and sported a bare cinderblock facade for several months. The current owner bought the property in 2004 for $16,600, and we’re guessing he’s intending to sell it once the rehab is complete.
2052 Ellsworth St., on the other hand, was torn down by developer Gold Coast Contractors after they purchased it…
In December, we told you about five homes replacing empty lots at 2001-09 W. Oxford St., a few blocks north of the Girard College campus. At the time, the developers had just gone to zoning. Now, these buildings have been framed out and are getting facades.
